Faculty members handling for online teaching are highly qualified to teach any of the courses. They have the responsibility and authority over the academic management and oversight of the elearning courses and programs. They possess the same profile (expertise, experience, and rank) as the Institute faculty assigned to traditional classes. They also have full control of the content of the course.
They are granted the authority and the responsibility to produce any revised or supplemental materials in order to maintain or enhance the accuracy and quality of the elearning course. The Institute policy on patents and copyright applies to all elearning programs and courses.
The Institute’s elearning infrastructure shall provide development opportunities for faculty that will increase their awareness of elearning methodologies and improve their instructional skills. The faculty shall have appropriate services and resources to assure their effectiveness as elearning educators and to assure an effective and efficient teaching and learning environment.
Each faculty member teaching elearning courses shall receive consultation, training, implementation , and evaluation support from instructional design and delivery staff to assure the effective and efficient use of the chosen delivery system. The Institute shall provide adequate equipment, software, and communications access to faculty to support interaction with students, cooperating institutions, and other faculty for approved programs and courses.
