Department of Computer Science

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
  1. SASE cut-off score for incoming first year students
    1. SASE Cut-Off Score: 95
      Math: 20 or better
      Language/English: 50% of the highest possible score
      Science: 50% of the highest possible score
    2. In case the quota for a particular semester is not met, students with lower scores to be decided upon by the department may be admitted.
  2. Transferees from within and other MSU-Campuses:
    1. Must have taken Math 17 with a grade of 2.50 or better.
    2. Must have no failing grade in any of the Math and Science subjects.
    3. Must have a GPA of 2.50 or better.
    4. Must file an application of admission with the department concerned, which shall rank the application accordingly.
  3. Transferees from other schools

    Transferees from schools other than those belonging to the MSU system shall satisfy these requirements:

    1. Must have taken Math 17 or its equivalent with a grade of 2.50 or better.
    2. Must pass the admission exam given by the Admission Office.
    3. Must have a GPA of 2.50 or better.
    4. Must pass the interview conducted by Chairman or committee designated for this purpose.
  4. Second Courser

    Students who are degree holders and who wish to seek admission to SCS shall observe/comply with the following:

    1. They will be given lower priority over transferees since all courses in the SCS are quota courses and slots are limited.
    2. Their TOR’s shall be evaluated noting specifically, grades in mathematics, language, and science and IT related subjects.
    3. Must pass interview conducted by Chairman or committee designated for this purpose.
 

Department of Electronics Engineering Technology

Two-Year Diploma in Electronics Technology
  1. High School Graduate
  2. Good Moral Character
  3. Has taken MSU-SASE with a score of at least 60.
 

Three-Year Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology

  1. High School Graduate
  2. Good Moral Character
  3. Must have good grades in Mathematics
  4. Must have good reading and communication skills
  5. Has taken MSU-SASE with passing score
  6. Graduate of two-year Diploma in Electronics Technology with a GPA of 2.5 or better.
 

Department of Information Technology

Bachelor of Science in Information of Technology
  1. SASE cut-off score for incoming first year students
    1. SASE Cut-Off Score: 90
      Math: 20 or better
      Language/English: 50% of the highest possible score
      Science: 50% of the highest possible score
    2. In case the quota for a particular semester is not met, students with lower scores to be decided upon by the department may be admitted.

Academic Calendar

SCS follows the semestral Academic Calendar approved by the MSU Board of Regents. Each semester consists of approximately 18 weeks with about 2 weeks of semestral break between them.

The semester is divided into three grading periods of approximately 6 weeks each. These are the First Preliminary Period, Second Preliminary Period and Final Period. Examinations and grades are given at the end of each grading period.
