Overview of the system
The Institute Palakasan Monitoring System is a system that replaces the current manual monitoring, tabulation, recording, posting, and archiving of all events in the Annual Institute Palakasan of the Mindanao State University Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU IIT). The system is expected to evolve over several releases as new issues are encountered and resolved.
The system was developed based on the assumptions that: (1) the Palakasan is held once every school year, between the last weeks of August and the first days of September; (2) there are eight teams (schools/colleges) that will be competing in the Palakasan, namely College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) Arachnids, College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) Griffins, College of Education (CED) Phoenix, College of Engineering (COE) Dragons, College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Lynx, Integrated Developmental School (IDS) Hornets, School of Computer Studies (SCS) Wolves, and School of Engineering Technology (SET) Tigers; and, (3) there are four main categories in the Palakasan, namely Cheerdance, Cultural, Literary, and Sports.
