"Tales" continue
to wow audiences
The internationally-acclaimed "Tales" has been on several legs of a national tour this 23rd Season that started July 25 at the U.P. in Los Banos and in several venues in Manila and the provinces. The tour has completed three legs and continues on its road tours this year. "Tales" has represented the country in many international festivals in France, Netherlands, Austria, England, Spain, Portugal and Singapore. For this season's tours, the dance-narratives "Tales" also performed at the Poveda Learning Center, Assumption College (Antipolo), and the Museo Pambata, among others. It makes a return performance at the U.P. in Los Banos, and is booked for more performances in various other universities in Manila and Luzon starting in January until April, 2001. see "Tales"

Rousing debut for new IPAG dance-musical How the Women of Joaquin Met Lawanen opened its touring premiere to 2 full houses for the Cebu Arts Festival at the University of San Carlos Cultural Center last November 17, 2000. Visibly entertained by the new experimental musical, the Cebuano crowd responded with enthusiastic applause and a standing ovation. How the Women is a collage of images and narratives Collaborating in the work is TOYM-awardee Chino Toledo (music), sculptress Julie Lluch (sets), Nolly Ceballos (choreography), and German Gervacio (poetry). The play is written and directed by Steven P.C. Fernandez. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) produced the play through a grant that selected the IPAG one of 12 theater groups nationwide to participate in the Millennium Arts and Culture Festival dubbed Sambayan. "How the Women" opened in Iligan City last Novmber 10 and 11 after a preview in Oct. 20. It is scheduled for reshow in February 16 and 17 in the MSU-IIT gym.
