IPAG HIGHLIGHTS ILIGAN CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS 

"Muling Pagkabuhay/Kapatiran" is the theme of  the IPAG presentation that prologues the raising of the flag and highlights the Iligan Centennial celebrations in the city open plaza in June 12 (7:30 a.m.). 

A creative production that condenses the spirit of Filipino freedom includes the heroes and the people that took part in these struggles. This dance production is choreographed by Nolly Ceballos with concept, photodirection and scenario by Steven Fernandez from the music of the acclaimed PETA musicale "1898." 

The show will also include Iligan-based cultural groups Kariala and LEAD.

IPAG Home Page Nominated 
The IPAG Web Page has been nominated in  the 1998 Philippine Webby Awards under the Culture/Filipiniana category. 

The Webby Awards are given to distinguished sites created by Filipinos worldwide.  The winners will be announced later. Please check their sites for more information.

"Tales" 1998 tours kick-off in Iligan 
The US-Canada performance tour kicked off with local performances in Iligan at the MSU-IIT Gym May 29 and 30.  

Feature was  a  dance-drama from the Maranao darangen: the "Abduction of Princess Lawanen" which make up part of the 1998 touring repertoire.  

These additions pad the original international repertoire that photohas been extensively performed in Europe, Asia and the country. 

IPAG opens its performances in the 1998 International Festival of the American Association of Community Theater in Michigan, USA, June 22 to 28, where it represents the Philippines. It then travels to Cananda for more performances in Winnipeg (July 5), Ontario (July 11-19) before proceeding to Europe.

NCCA Grants IPAG Rep Development Support 
Nineteen ninety eight will be a good year for IPAG as its operations for production and  adminstrative have been subsidized by a grant from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). 

The grant subsidizes support for the guild's repertory program through the build-up of its audience base in the community and outlying regions. 

The grant should ensure four major productions for IPAG's 1998 season.  

Season offerings for 1998 
Touring dance-music productions highlight the IPAG repertory season this year.  

The "Tales From Mindanao" saga sets for regional and international tours. This same production represents the country in various performance events abroad in June to September.  

A recital of new dance works caps the 1998 Summer Performing Arts workshops at the MSU-IIT in May 3. The summer workshops start March 23.  

A new small-cast play premieres at the MSU-IIT Mini Theater in week-end runs starting September 9 to 26.  

Datu Matu" is the IPAG centennial offering which caps the 1998 IPAG Season and starts its national performance tours in November. 

1998 World Tours 
IPAG represents the country in performance events and festivals in Canada, the U.S., and Europe. "Tales from drama masksMindanao" is the featured production. In Europe, IPAG will go by the name Ballet de Mindanao
