| Conference format
Literature Teachers Conference Lectures and video/film showings on the history and cultures of Mindanao. Plenary sessions. The LTCM will hold parallel sessions with the 5th INWW. To qualify as a teacher-fellow, an applicant should submit a one-page paper on the topic "My approach in reading Philippine Literature" using any work by contemporary (1960's to present) writers and attach a photo-copy of the writer's work: one poem, or one short story, or one-act play. Teacher fellows will be given a transportation allowance and free board and lodging for the two-day literature conference. Other participants who will be teaching Philippine Literature courses are accepted for a fee of P1,000.00 on a first-come-first-served basis. This year, the conference will focus on how to read literature. Lectures include: Critical Reading (Prof. Ricardo M. de Ungria), Approaches in reading Literautre (Prof. Merlie M. Alunan), The genesis of a poem (Dr. Anthony Tan), Reading Cebuano Literature (Dr. Erlinda Kintanar Alburo), Reading Mindanao Literature (Prof. Christine Godinez-Ortega), and Contemporary Literary Theories (Dr. Rosario Cruz Lucero).
