| IPAG shares expertise in book The test edition of Making Theatre: The Craft of the
Stage is now available. This textbook (written by Dr. Steven P.C.
Fernandez, DFA and published by the IPAG) explains creating theatre in the regions. The book
fills in the need to create productions in conditions with the most inadequate
of resources, in art, science, and business.
Most theatre books available teach our budding practitioners well but in
situations where infrastructure is absent, or audience is apathetic. Focus is
on making use of available resources including physical spaces,
artists, organizers, technology, and their use to transform local subjects guided by local aesthetics to the stage. Besides sharing techniques of directing, the book
includes parts on how to organize, produce shows in various genres, sell, and
appropriately transcreate indigenous materials for theatre.
This test edition is used by the Stagecraft classes of the author. Copies
are available for sale at the introductory price of P250.00 at the IPAG production room. Call: 063-4922354
