Iligan's IPAG shines in Europe tour

ILIGAN CITY -- After over 50 performances to audience numbering thousands in two-and-a half months, the Integrated
Performing Arts Guild (IPAG) of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology is finally home, completing its triumphant 2002
Europe tours.IPAG was Philippine representative in major festivals in France, Belgium and Spain. It opened
its tour with a command performance in Monaco attended by Prince Albert at the plush Hotel de Paris in July 5.
IPAG performances were greeted with much adulation and raving reviews, receiving standing ovations in its shows,
including the full-length performances in Paris, Madrid, Monaco, and other major cities in France, according to Steven P.C. Fernandez, IPAG
founder and artistic director.
IPAG won the grand prize in the song competition and was the most-awarded group in the 13th
International Folklore Festival in Port Sur Saone, France, competing with 10 other countries, including the national companies of Paraguay,
Surinam, and Chechnya.
Besides Europe, IPAG’s 2002 world tours have earlier included performances in Taiwan and in the World Cup in South
Korea.
IPAG attended the festivals in Bray-Dune, Port Sur Saone, Haguenau, La Menitre, Sainte, Guignon (France), and the
34th International Mediterranean Festival in Murcia, Spain.
Aside from Fernandez, the IPAG the delegation is composed of Stanley Perry Fernandez (tour manager), Joey Nombres
(technical director), and artists Arlem Abanes (stage manager), Nolly Ceballos (choreographer), Melvin Pascubillo, Reynan Revillas, Julius
Hechanova, Dexter Jumalon, Leilani Monterola, Eleanor Lila, Lilybeth Maraon, Wenna Balaido, Lara Maglinao, Jenelyn Morales, and Ronald Salazar.
Supporting the IPAG Europe tour are WGA Super Ferries (exclusive carrier of the IPAG), Cultural Center of the
Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Pagcor, Department of Tourism, Iligan City Government, and the MSU-IIT. |
